Settings

The Settings section has About, Overlay, Onboarding, Global Preset Settings, and Performance tabs.

About—The About tab has the following options:

  • App version—The app version displays the latest available version of Alienware Command Center.
  • Link to support site—The link to the Alienware Command Center support page is provided.
  • Current privacy configuration—To change telemetry settings, select one of the two options:
    • Yes—Allow the app to collect and send analytics data.
    • No—Do not allow the app to collect and send analytics data.

Overlay—The Overlay tab has the following options:

  • ON/OFF auto app switching to overlay mode—To disable auto app switching to the Overlay mode after starting the game, clear the checkbox Automatic launch overlay in game mode.
NOTE:By default, the checkbox is enabled.
  • Overlay shortcut settings—To change the Overlay shortcut, click the textbox to enter a new Overlay shortcut.
NOTE:If you do not specify a shortcut, the app returns to the default Key Binds CTRL > Shift > O.

Onboarding—To restart the onboarding process, click the Restart button.

NOTE:Once onboarding is completed, the Onboarding tab in the Settings screen is displayed.

Performance—The Performance tab has the option to enable or disable the MUX Switch. A MUX switch (or Multiplexer) is a physical switch in the motherboard that lets you disable the integrated graphics (iGPU) in your gaming laptop so your computer can take full advantage of the more powerful discrete graphics (dGPU). This gives you a performance boost while gaming, however, it comes at the expense of shorter battery life. For the best gaming experience, Dell Technologies recommends enabling this feature while your computer is connected to the AC adapter. When you enable MUX Switch iGPU is disabled, and the computer can take full advantage of the dGPU.

NOTE: A computer restart is required after enabling or disabling this feature.
