Backup fails with an ABV0006 error
When running many concurrent backup jobs and using a VM Direct Engine configured with either Hot Add or NBD, and where indexing is enabled or swap files are excluded, a backup job can fail.
The following error messages are seen:
ABV0006: VM Direct engine … is unable to back up the virtual machine The backup had terminated unexpectedly. (500) Protection of this virtual machine by the VM Direct engine cannot be completed because the backup was unsuccesful
To resolve this issue, perform the following steps:
- Edit the
Capacity setting of the
VM Direct Engine, changing it to
70%.
