Familiarize yourself with the high-level steps required to protect virtual machines.

1. Design how to group the backups based on the storage requirements and retention policies.

2. Deploy PowerProtect Data Manager.

3. Configure PowerProtect Data Manager settings.

4. Add protection storage.
