Updating the Microsoft Application Agent and VM Direct agent software
The Microsoft Application Agent and VM Direct agent software required to perform SQL application-aware data protection and file-level restore operations will be automatically updated on the target virtual machine by the VM Direct Engine during the file-level restore operation. The VM Direct Engine detects the available software on the client and updates the agent software with the new version of software from its repository. If the update does not occur automatically, contact Customer Support for a procedure to update the VM Direct Engine software repository with the latest version of the agent software packages.
