Add bare metal servers

About this task

You can add a bare metal server that are discovered in OpenManage Enterprise and the respective host is not added to the registered vCenter. The following information is displayed on the Deployment page.
  • Service Tag—displays the service tag of the server.
  • Model—displays the Dell PowerEdge Server model name.
  • iDRAC IP—displays the IP address of the server.
  • iDRAC License Status—displays the status of the license.
    • Supported—If server have OME advance plus license.
    • Unsupported—If server does not have OME advance plus license.
  • iDRAC Firmware Version—displays the firmware version of iDRAC.
  • Compliance Status—Following compliance status is displayed for the sever.
    • Compliant —displays if the server has OpenManage Enterprise advance plus license.
    • Non-Compliant —displays if the server does not have OpenManage Enterprise advance plus license.
    • Unknown —status of the bare metal is not yet computed. Refresh the bare metal once and try again.
  • Operating System—displays the operating system that is already installed on the server. If Operating System is not installed, then the attribute will be empty.

Steps

  1. On the OMEVV home page, click Compliance & Deployment > Deployment.
  2. Select a bare metal server, and then click ADD BAREMETALS.
    Bare metal servers list is displayed.
  3. Select bare metals from the list, and click OK.
  4. To know more information about the server, select server and following information is displayed.
    • Service Tag—displays service tag information of the selected server.
    • iDRAC IP—displays iDRAC IP address of the selected server.
    • Name—displays the hostname of the server.
    • iDRAC Firmware Version—displays the firmware version of the server.
    • License Entitlement ID—displays list of iDRAC licenses.
    • iDRAC License Type—displays the type of the license.
    • iDRAC License Description—displays iDRAC license name.
    • iDRAC License Expiration Date—displays license expiry date.
