Deployment jobs

About this task

After the deployment tasks are complete or once deployment jobs are scheduled or initiated, user can track the deployment job status on the Deployment Jobs page.

Steps

  1. On the OMEVV home page, click Jobs > Deployment.
    A table displays all the deployment jobs along with the following information:
    • Name—The deployment job name.
    • Description—The job description.
    • Scheduled Time—The date and time when the job is scheduled.
    • Status—The status of the deployment job.
      • Success—displays when ESXi is installed successfully for all target servers.
      • Failed—displays when ESXi installation fails for all target servers.
      • Completed with errors—displays when the target servers has combination of Successful and Failed status.
      • Cancelled—displays when the job is cancelled by user.
      • Aborted—displays when OME reboot when the job is scheduled or in running state.
    • vCenter—displays the associated vCenter's IP address.
    • Collection Size—The number of servers in the deployment job.
    • Progress Summary—The job progress details of the deployment job.
  2. To view more information about the servers in the deployment job, select a deployment job and navigate to the specific targets.
    The following information is displayed in the lower pane:
    • Host—displays the IP address of the server.
    • Status—displays the job status of the target server.
      • Successful—displays when ESXi is installed successfully for the server.
      • Failed—displays when ESXi installation fails for the server.
      • Completed with errors—displays when the ESXi installation is successful and later task fails.
      • Cancelled—displays when the job is cancelled by the user.
      • Aborted—displays when OpenManage Enterprise reboot when the job is scheduled or in running state.
    • Start Time and Date—displays the deployment job start date and time.
    • End Time and Date—displays the deployment job end date and time.
    • Details—displays the details of the deployment job.
    NOTE To view more information about the deployment job, select a job and pause the pointer on the Details column.
  3. To stop the deployment job, click STOP.
  4. To purge the deployment jobs, click CLEAR COMPLETED, select Earlier than date and job Status, and then click Apply.
    The selected jobs are then cleared from the Deployment Jobs page.
  5. To re-schedule the scheduled job time, click EDIT SCHEDULE, select the date and time and then click Apply.
