The following OMEVV limitations for backup and restore:

• Restore operation fails if any of the registered vCenter fails or when the vCenter is not reachable or when the vCenter is reachable but the user has changed the credentials post the backup operation. For such scenarios, OpenManage Enterprise will not explain the exact reason for failure. The resolution is to maintain the same vCenter credential during the backup and restore procedure. Also, note that the OpenManage Enterprise performs backup operation after all the backup files are available.
• Restore operation fails if user unregister the vCenter after performing the backup operation. This action nullifies the backup file performed by the OpenManage Enterprise. Hence, user has to take the backup whenever the vCenter is unregistered.
• Performing PHA enable task when OMEVV is in maintenance mode enables OMEVV to post normal events for FAN, PSU, IDSDM, and Memory. After an hourly job, OMEVV posts with actual severity events.
