OpenManage Enterprise Integration for VMware vCenter Version 1.1 User's Guide

OMEVV Baseline Profile

A baseline profile allows you to capture the firmware version and maintain the required state for clusters by identifying any drift against the baseline.

To create a baseline profile, ensure to have firmware repository profile. It is recommended that you use homogeneous servers for the clusters being baselined. For more information on the best practices to create a cluster, see VMware documentation.

  • Ensure that the firmware repository profile is created and status is successful before it is used for creating a baseline profile.
  • If there is a change or update in the repository profile, the baseline profile is updated automatically.
  • After the baseline profile is created, it triggers the drift detection job.
  • If there is already a cluster that is associated to the baseline profile, newly created baseline profile overrides the associated cluster.
  • Due to regular updates to the catalogs, you cannot use Dell Default Catalog repository profiles to baseline the vSAN clusters.
NOTE Ensure not to tamper Baseline Profile created by OMEVV in OME.
