Dell VxRail VD-4510c Hardware Requirements and Specifications

Configurations and features

The VxRail VD-4510c is a 1U half-width, 1-processor server sled that supports:
  • A Third-Generation Intel Xeon D Scalable processor with up to 16 cores
  • Four DDR4 DIMM slots
  • Up to 4 x M.2 NVMe SSDs

The following figure and table describes the components on the front view of the sled:

1 Network I/O ports for network connectivity. Ports shared with iDRAC when iDRAC network settings are set to shared mode.
2 Serial port
3 USB 9 pin and 3.0 compliant port
4 iDRAC9 RJ45 dedicated port for remote access to iDRAC. See the Integrated Dell Remote Access Controller User's Guide.
5 Mini-Display Port
6 Sled handle
7 System ID button is available on the front and back. Press System ID to identify a system in the rack, reset iDRAC, and access BIOS using the step-through mode. When pressed, the System ID LED in the back panel blinks until the front or rear button is pressed again. Press the System ID to switch between on and off.

If the server stops responding during POST, press and hold the System ID button for more than five seconds to enter the BIOS progress mode.

To reset the iDRAC (if not disabled on the iDRAC setup page by pressing F2 during system boot), press and hold the System ID button for more than 15 seconds.

8 Sled Power button

When VxRail VD-4510c is installed in the VxRail VD-4000r or VxRail VD-4000z chassis, the power button LED indicator status may be delayed for up to two minutes while the sled is initializing. The power button LED will start slowly blinking to indicate the system is performing the power on sequence after this time period

9 iDRAC Direct port (Micro-AB USB) allows access to the iDRAC direct Micro-AB USB features.
10 Information tag is a slide-out label panel that contains one MAC address
11 Bezel pogo pin connector is a spring-loaded, pressure sensitive sensor that indicates when replacement is needed.
