MyAccount: Common Issues with MyAccount and Products Stored There

Instructions

MyAccount - Dell Digital Locker (DDL) has moved to MyAccount.

  • Dell Digital Locker functions are now within MyAccount in the left navigation under Software Licenses and Subscriptions.
  • Within your account you can obtain your licenses, manage your subscriptions, and access any available downloads.

What is stored in MyAccount?

  • Licenses - iDRAC, OpenManage Enterprise, CMC (M1000E, VTRX, FX2), OMI, OS10, VMware vSphere Standard OEM Pre-Installed version
  • ISOs - Microsoft Windows, and OS10
  • Documents, files, information, so forth - NVIDIA, OS10, VMware, Red Hat, SuSe, and so forth
  • Partner Activations Code - PACs - VMware, Red Hat, SLES
  • And many more products, for example: Client products, legacy EMC, and so forth

What is not stored in MyAccount?

Managing MyAccount:

  • All administrative tasks can be managed in MyAccount, like: Register a product, download a license, bind a license to Service Tag, add, remove users, create users, products groups, and so forth.
  • Information and instructions can be found in the FAQs section in MyAccount or in Frequently asked Questions
  • Exception: one option Unbind or Unassign license Key is not available in MyAccount - this requires help from Dell Technical Support.

How to ensure that the products are in the correct MyAccount?

  • Sales must ensure that that correct email addresses are added to Billing and Shipping fields in GII.
  • Sales must ensure that that correct email addresses are added to the Digitally Fulfilled Software and Services field in DSA.
  • End-Users should perform product registration by themselves.
  • Distributors should forward registration email to End-Users. Distributors should not register products to themselves.

Solutions, Workarounds

  • Create or Reset Password - Button does not work.
  • You do not receive the email.
  • Usually MyAccount does not exist.
  • Create MyAccount first.
  • Certain products are not visible in MyAccount.
  • MyAccount is empty.
  • Customer is logged in to wrong MyAccount. Customer is using wrong email address or alias.
  • Looking for licenses in the wrong place
  • Licenses are stored in MyAccount.
  • MyAccount - Software Licenses and Subscriptions - Software Licenses.
  • Using PAC - Partner Activation Code instead of the license to activate software.
  • Use the PAC from MyAccount, go to third-party vendor licensing portal (VMware, Red HatThis hyperlink is taking you to a website outside of Dell Technologies., SuSeThis hyperlink is taking you to a website outside of Dell Technologies.), exchange their PAC for the license, use provided license to activate specific software.
  • Using VMware vSphere Pre-Installed version and wants this license to be visible in My VMware account.
  • Everything that is required to work with this version is available in MyAccount, like: ISOs, documents, other files, and the most important, the license itself
  • No interaction with https://my.vmware.com is allowed with these licenses.
  • It is physically not possible to add these licenses to My VMware portal.
  • Using VMware vSphere Pre-Installed version, and you try to activate the license in My VMware portal.
  • Error message in My VMware portal: XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX is invalid or not eligible.
  • The license itself is stored in MyAccount (and not the PAC - Partner Activation Code).
  • It is not possible to activate it in My VMware portal, because it is license already.
  • Everything that is required to work with this version is available in MyAccount, like: ISOs, documents, other files, and the most important, the license itself
  • It is physically not possible to add these licenses to the VMware portal.
  • The downloaded Windows ISO does not work (various scenarios and errors codes).
  • Besides the Windows ISO, you find in MyAccount a second file with hash value.
  • Download and open the .txt file and check the hash value.
  • In Windows: In the search field, type PowerShell, right-click it, and select run as administrator, type: Get-FileHash <path to the ISO file>
  • Compare both hash values and in the case that they do not match:
  • Download Windows ISO again or download Windows ISO using another system.
  • Check and compare the hash values again.
