Symptoms

Trying to configure SNMP, Secure Remote Services, LDAP while installing Lockbox on Windows OS or Linux OS. The following exception is received:

C:\Program Files\EMC\scaleio\Gateway\bin>FOSGWTool.bat --change_lb_passphrase --new_passphrase xX@xx_10
Creating new lockbox
Exception in thread "main" com.emc.s3g.scaleio.lockbox.LockBoxException: com.emc.security.lockbox.LockboxException: Failed to read persistent Lockbox store
Caused by: com.emc.security.lockbox.LockboxException: Failed to read persistentLockbox store
Caused by: com.emc.security.lockbox.LockboxException: The Lockbox is corrupt and failed to load.

Cause

Lockbox is certified and tested on Windows OS or Linux OS using ENGLISH locale. Any other locale, for example, Russian prevents the Lockbox from installing and functioning properly.

Resolution

Lockbox is supported on Windows and Linux OS with English Locale.
Reinstall the lockbox on Windows or Linux OS with an ENGLISH locale.
