Enable or disable SMB sparse file support

You can enable or disable SMB sparse file support from the OneFS command line.

This procedure is available only through the OneFS command-line interface (CLI).

  1. To view if the sparse file support is enabled or not, run the following command:
isi smb settings share view | grep Sparse
The system displays output similar to the following example:
    Sparse File: No

    or

    Sparse File: Yes
  2. If sparse file support is enabled and you want to disable it, run the following command:
isi smb settings share modify --sparse-file=False
  3. If sparse file support is disabled and you want to enable it, run the following command:
isi smb settings share modify --sparse-file=True
  4. After you adjust settings, confirm that the setting is correct. Run the following command:
isi smb settings share view | grep Sparse
