Removing heat sink

  1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
  2. Remove the:
    1. stand
    2. optical drive
    3. back cover
    4. system board shield
  3. To remove heat sink:
    1. Remove the screw M2x2.5 that secures the heat sink to the chassis [1].
    2. Loosen the captive screws that secure the heat sink to the system board [2].
      NOTE:Remove the screws that secure the heat sink to the system board in the order of the callouts shown on the heat sink [1, 2, 3, 4].
    3. Lift the heat sink away from the computer [3].
