Removing system board

  1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
  2. Remove the:
    1. stand
    2. optical drive
    3. back cover
    4. hard drive
    5. system board shield
    6. coin cell battery
    7. SSD card
    8. memory module
    9. WLAN card
    10. heat sink
    11. system fan
    12. processor
  3. Disconnect following cables:
    1. SATA ODD cable [1]
    2. VGA serial cable [2]
    3. VGA cable [3]
    4. Speaker cable [4]
    5. LCD link bar cable [5]
    6. LCD assembly [6]
      NOTE:Press the clips to release the assembly from the chassis, to avoid damage while removing the cable.
    7. Heat sink cable [7]
    8. LCD assembly [8]
    Disconnecting cable
  4. To remove system board:
    1. Remove M3 0.5x5 screws that secure the system board to release it from the chassis [1]
    2. Slide the system board from the chassis [2].
      NOTE:Pull the system board metal shield on both sides while removing the system board chassis.
