Removing the battery

CAUTION:The information in this section is intended for authorized service technicians only.

Prerequisites

  1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
  2. Remove the nanoSIM card.
  3. Remove the base cover.

Steps

  1. Peel the tape that secures the battery cable to the palm-rest assembly.
  2. Disconnect the battery cable from the system board (if not disconnected earlier).
  3. Loosen the five captive screws that secure the battery to the palm-rest assembly.
  4. Lift the battery off the palm-rest assembly.
