Removing the camera module

CAUTION:The information in this section is intended for authorized service technicians only.

Prerequisites

  1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
  2. Remove the nanoSIM card.
  3. Remove the base cover.
  4. Remove the wireless card.
  5. Remove the WWAN card.
  6. Remove the display assembly.
  7. Remove the display bezel.
  8. Remove the display panel.

Steps

  1. Peel the tape that secures the camera cable to the display back cover.
  2. Disconnect the camera cable from the camera.
  3. Carefully pry up the camera module from the recesses at the bottom edge of the camera module.
  4. Lift the camera module from the display back cover.
