Symptoms

  • Os registros de backup do vProxy mostram o erro:
Backup has FAILED. Unable to create snapshot. Unable to create non-quiesced snapshot after a retry attempt: An error occurred while saving the snapshot: Could not open or create change tracking file.

 

  • O registro vProxy snapshot-mgr (\opt\emc\vproxy\runtime\logs\vbackupd\vbackupd-snapmgr.log) mostra o mesmo erro:
YYYY-MM-DDTHH:mm:SS ERROR:  Snapshot creation task failed: An error occurred while saving the snapshot: Could not open or create change tracking file.
YYYY-MM-DDTHH:mm:SS ERROR:  Unable to create quiesced snapshot: An error occurred while saving the snapshot: Could not open or create change tracking file.
YYYY-MM-DDTHH:mm:SS NOTICE: Snapshot free space threshold validation not requested.
YYYY-MM-DDTHH:mm:SS WARN:   Retrying as a non-quiesced snapshot: Unable to create quiesced snapshot: An error occurred while saving the snapshot: Could not open or create change tracking file.
YYYY-MM-DDTHH:mm:SS INFO:   Task to create snapshot completed, errors = true.
YYYY-MM-DDTHH:mm:SS ERROR:  Unable to create non-quiesced snapshot after a retry attempt: An error occurred while saving the snapshot: Could not open or create change tracking file.

 

Cause

Há um problema com os arquivos CBT (Change Block Tracking) dessa VM.

 

Resolution

Os arquivos CBT (Change Block Tracking) são criados e controlados pelo host do ESXi no qual a VM está sendo executada. O NetWorker é um solicitante de snapshot, o VMware pega e exclui os snapshots usados para os backups. O NetWorker não pode contornar ou ignorar um problema de snapshot.
