Removing the display hinges
Prerequisites
- Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
- Remove the stand.
- Remove the back cover.
- Remove the I/O cover.
NOTE: For replacement of stand or display hinges, the replacement kit is shipped with both stand and display hinges, and you must replace both of these components together. Refer to the procedure for
removing the stand and
installing the stand.

Steps
- Remove the 10 screws (M3x5) that secure the right and left display hinges to the display-assembly base.
- Lift the display hinges off the display-assembly base.
