Removing the display panel
Prerequisites
- Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
- Remove the stand.
- Remove the back cover.
- Remove the I/O cover.
- Remove the hard drive.
- Remove the system-board shield.
- Remove the memory module.
- Remove the wireless card.
- Remove the M.2 2230 solid-state drive or M.2 2280 solid-state drive, as applicable.
- Remove the heat sink.
- Remove the system board.
About this task
The following image indicates the location of display panel and provides a visual representation of the removal procedure.
Steps
- Remove the 10 screws (M3x5) that secure the display panel to the display-assembly base.
- Remove the five screws (M3x3) that secure the display panel to the display-assembly base.
- Place the computer in an upright position.
- Holding the top corner, push the display panel away from the display-assembly base using the push holes available on the display-assembly base.
- Slide the display-backlight cable, touchscreen cable, and display cable on the display panel through the slots on the display-assembly base.
- Lift the display panel up from the display-assembly base.
