Installing the internal antenna in Location 2

Prerequisites

If you are replacing a component, remove the existing component before performing the installation procedure.

About this task

The following image indicates the location of an internal antenna in location 2 and provides a visual representation of the removal procedure.

Steps

  1. Remove the filler on the back of the system.
    NOTE:Step one is only applicable for new installation. For replacing an existing component, follow the procedure from step two.
  2. Loosen the captive screw that secures the antenna cover to the antenna.
  3. Insert the antenna cable through the opening at the back of the system.
  4. Route the antenna-cable through cable clip and the routing guides on the chassis.
  5. Tilt and align the tab on the antenna with the slot on the chassis.
  6. Replace the screw (M3x3) to secure the antenna to the chassis.
  7. Place the antenna cover on the antenna and tighten the captive screw to secure the antenna.
