Installing the optional Type-C module

Prerequisites

If you are replacing a component, remove the existing component before performing the installation procedure.

About this task

The following image indicates the location of the optional Type-C module and provides a visual representation of the installation procedure.

To identify the ports and connectors, see the system board connectors.

Steps

  1. Insert and push the flat-head screwdriver into the slot on the optional module filler to release the optional module filler from the chassis.
    NOTE:Step one is only applicable for new installation or component upgrade. For replacing an existing component, follow the procedure from step two.
  2. Connect the Type-C cable and the DisplayPort cable to the connectors on the system board.
  3. Align and place the Type-C module into the optional I/O module slot on the chassis.
  4. Rotate and slide the Type-C module.
  5. Replace the two screws (M3x3) to secure the Type-C module to the chassis.
