Installing the optional HDMI module

Prerequisites

If you are replacing a component, remove the existing component before performing the installation procedure.

About this task

The following image indicates the location of the optional HDMI module and provides a visual representation of the installation procedure.

NOTE:Optional VGA and DisplayPort modules have similar procedure as optional HDMI module.

To identify the ports and connectors, see the system board connectors.

Steps

  1. Insert and push the flat-head screwdriver into the slot on the optional module filler to release the optional module filler from the chassis.
    NOTE:Step one is only applicable for new installation or component upgrade. For replacing an existing component, follow the procedure from step two.
  2. Connect the HDMI module cable to the connector on the system board.
  3. Insert the HDMI module into the optional module slot on the chassis.
  4. Replace the two screws (M3X3) to secure the HDMI module to the chassis.
