Removing the 3.5-inch hard drive
Prerequisites
- Follow the procedure in before working inside your computer.
- Remove the side cover.
- Remove the front bezel.
About this task
The following images indicate the location of the 3.5-inch hard drive and provide a visual representation of the removal procedure.
Steps
- Remove the two (6x32) screws that secure the hard-drive caddy to the hard-drive and optical-drive cage.
- Slide the hard-drive towards the right to free it from the mounting points on the caddy and lift it away from the system.
- Remove the two (6x32) screws that secure the hard drive to the caddy.
- Slide and remove the hard drive from the caddy.
