The following hardware requirements apply when choosing hardware for the
VxRail vSAN 2-node cluster.
The 2-node configuration is supported with the following platforms:
VxRail E, P, V, D, S, VD, VE, and VP
series models
VxRail 7.0.010 and earlier versions
support:
4 High (4 x 10 GbE )
2 Low 2 High (2 x 1 GbE + 2 x
10 GbE )
VxRail 7.0.100 and later add support
for 25 GbE (4 ports required, minimum 2 high speed 10/25 GbE )
VxRail 8.0.300 and later add support for 100 GbE (4 ports required, minimum 2
high speed 10/25/100 GbE )
VxRail8.0.320 and later add support for 2 High (2 x 10/25/100 GbE )
NOTE:One GbE is for VxRail management
network support only. VMware vSphere vMotion and VMware vSAN require a higher speed
network.
NOTE:If no high-speed switch is available, the 2 Low 2 High
option can use direct connect for VMware vSphere vMotion and VMware vSAN traffic.
Management and witness traffic uses the 1 GbE switch.
NOTE:VxRail VD-4000 supports 1 GbE with
transceivers.
