PowerStore: Unexpected node reboot during DNS or Dell SupportAssist changes

• This issue only affects PowerStoreOS 3.5 and above.
• Enabling Dell SupportAssist while it is starting or stopping may lead to an unexpected node reboot.
• Changing DNS several times in close proximity may lead to an unexpected node reboot.

• Multiple DNS changes
  • Upon changing the DNS configuration Dell SupportAssist service is restarted.
    If another request for DNS change is requested while the previous request did not complete, it may lead to a node reboot
• Multiple Dell SupportAssist changes
  • Upon enabling Dell SupportAssist, PowerStore attempts to first disable the Dell SupportAssist service, if Dell SupportAssist is starting or stopping it may lead to an unexpected node reboot.
• Enabling Dell SupportAssist following a node reboot 
  • If a node owning Dell SupportAssist fails, Dell SupportAssist service attempts to start on the peer node.
    If the customer attempts to start Dell SupportAssist while the service is starting, it may lead to an unexpected node reboot.

Workaround

• Perform a single DNS change at a time, we recommend waiting for 5 minutes between each change
• If a node failed and an alert is raised for Dell SupportAssist failure, wait 15 minutes before attempting to start Dell SupportAssist.
