PPDM: Restore Fails with "The vCenter task failed: A specified parameter was not correct: Snapshot ID"

Symptoms

While using VMware vCenter ESXi 8.0.u1 or later with PowerProtect Data Manager version below 19.14, VM restore jobs fail with:

ARV0019: VM Direct engine is unable to to restore the virtual machine 'VMName' on vCenter 'vCenterName' because of a vCenter API issue.

Under the "Read more" section, an error message similar to the following is reported:

Session 'xxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx' is unsuccessful: Unable to perform full-restore SDM operation.  Unsuccessful after 99 attempts over <time>.  The vCenter task for 'SDM Commit Restore' completed with state 'error'.  The vCenter task failed:  A specified parameter was not correct: snapshot Id

Cause

VMware vCenter ESXi 8.0.u1 is compatible with PowerProtect Data Manager version 19.14 and later.

Resolution

If running into this issue, upgrade PowerProtect Data Manager to version 19.14 or above.
