Symptoms
Data collection is failing on MSSQL backup with the following error:
Unable to run request mssqldb:jobmonitor as there was an error opening the required pstore Cause
The DPA Agent cannot access the pstore file it created for data collection, due to agent service account permissions.
Resolution
The DPA agent was set up to run under an account to be able to access the SQL DB servers. This account is not a local admin on this server so it does not have access to the agent files.
This can be resolved by making the account that the agent is running under a local admin on this server.
Go to Windows services and right click the DPA Agent service and select Properties form the menu.
In the popup box click the Log On tab. This shows the account that the agent is running under.
This is the account that must be local admin on this server to resolve this issue.
