Symptoms
When the Data Domain platform detects a critical condition, a safeguard disables the file system (DDFS) as a precaution.
- Event posted: p0-12 EVT-ENVIRONMENT-00052: File system is disabled due to a critical condition.EVT-OBJ::Enclosure=1 EVT-INFO::Cause=XXXXX
- Alert: EVT-ENVIRONMENT-00032: The storage processor has failed
- Alert: EVT-ENVIRONMENT-00036: The current temperature exceeds the warning threshold
- System time backwards jump
Cause
It is by design that DDFS be automatically disabled when the system platform detects any of a set of critical conditions.
In the DD, the "messages.engineering" log (which can be viewed through "log view debug/messages.engineering" from the CLI) indicates "platmon" process disables the DDFS due to the fatal error in platform, for example:

Resolution
A particular such platform error is explained in more detail here: Data Domain: The Data Domain File System (DDFS) may be disabled if there is a backwards jump in system time configured on the system
For other possible reasons for the platform errors and the DDFS process being disabled as a result, read on, and contact DELL Data Domain Support as needed.
1. Firstly step should be taken to check the cause of the platform critical error and fix it. Check the mentioned "messages.engineering" log and list the system alerts (alerts show current) for any details.
2. After the platform error is fixed, clear the active EVT-ENVIRONMENT-00052 alert and also clear the "indict" as explained below from SE mode :

NOTE: SE commands have been deprecated in DDOS versions 7.7.5.25, 7.10.1.15, 7.13.0.15, 6.2.1.110 and above and are accessible only by Dell employees.
# alerts show current # alerts clear alert-id <alert-id-list> # se indict list # se indict remove <id>3. Finally, enable file system again:
