Inspiron or Vostro Cannot Connect to GlobalProtect VPN After Updating BIOS

Symptoms
An affected Inspiron or Vostro may connect to a VPN using GlobalProtect after updating the BIOS. GlobalProtect shows a "connection failed" error instead of connecting.
Affected Platforms and Affected BIOS Versions:
- Inspiron 15 3515 (BIOS version 1.35.0)
- Inspiron 15 3525 (BIOS version 1.30.0)
- Inspiron 3505 (BIOS version 1.34.0)
- Vostro 15 3515 (BIOS version 1.35.0)
- Vostro 3405 (BIOS version 1.34.0)
- Vostro 3425 (BIOS version 1.30.0)
- Vostro 3525 (BIOS version 1.30.0)
Cause
This issue is related to the BIOS code.
Resolution
Note: Before starting the update, perform the following:
- Back up all personal data. For more information, refer to Back Up and Recovery.
- Connect the AC adapter.
Updating the BIOS resolves the issue.
- Inspiron 15 3515: Updating the BIOS to version 1.36.1 or later on the computer resolves the issue.
- Inspiron 15 3525: Updating to BIOS version 1.31.1 or later on the computer resolves the issue.
- Inspiron 3505: Updating to BIOS version 1.35.1 or later on the computer resolves the issue.
- Vostro 15 3515 Updating to BIOS version 1.36.1 or later on the computer resolves the issue.
- Vostro 3405 Updating to BIOS version 1.35.1 or later on the computer resolves the issue.
- Vostro 3425 Updating to BIOS version 1.31.1 or later on the computer resolves the issue.
- Vostro 3525 Updating to BIOS version 1.31.1 or later on the computer resolves the issue.
