PowerProtect Data Manager 19.13 Cyber Recovery User Guide

Disabling multifactor authentication

A security officer can disable multifactor authentication for any user account, except the crso user account.

About this task

Users must enable multifactor authentication for their own accounts. Multifactor authentication is not available to dashboard users. A security officer cannot enable multifactor authentication for other users.

NOTE: Security officer and admin users, if they can log in, can disable multifactor authentication for their own accounts by using the slider in the Mult-Factor Authentication window. See Enabling multifactor authentication.

Steps

  1. Select Administration > Users from the Main Menu.
  2. Select the user.
  3. Click Disable MFA.
The security officer and the admin user, whose multifactor authentication is disabled, receive an email message that indicates that multifactor authentication is disabled. When the admin user logs in, the slider in the Setup Multi-Factor Authentication window is set to the disabled position.
