Run a scheduled or on-demand
PowerProtect Data Managerrecovery check to ensure that after a successful recovery a copy can be recovered.
About this task
When the
Cyber Recovery software completes a recovery check action, the copy's status is marked as recoverable or nonrecoverable. The
Cyber Recovery software reverts
PowerProtect Data Manager back to its initial state from which you can run a recovery. However, you can run a recovery manually to determine if the copy is recoverable and manually perform the cleanup.
Steps
Schedule a
recovery check:
In the
Policies content pane, click
Schedules.
On the
Schedule Information page, complete the following fields and then click
Next:

Schedule Name
Specify a schedule name.
Policy
Select the policy that you are scheduling.
Action
Select the
Recovery Check.
Application Host
Select the
PowerProtect Data Manager host.
On the
Scheduling page, complete the following fields and then click
Next:

Frequency
Enter the frequency in days and hours.
Next Run Date
Select the date and time to start running the policy under this schedule.
NOTE: The
Cyber Recovery UI uses the same time zone as the
Cyber Recovery management host for the scheduled time.
Review the
Summary page and either:
Click
Finish if you are satisfied with the summary information and want to add the schedule.
Click
Back to return to the previous page to change the information.
Click
Edit to return to a specific page in the wizard to change information.
Run an on-demand
recovery check.
Select
Recovery from the
Main Menu.
Under
Copies, select a copy.
Click
Recovery Check.
The
recovery check runs immediately.
Results
The recovery check procedure does not provide the option to access the
PowerProtect Data Manager UI. The procedure recovers the
PowerProtect Data Manager server and then automatically cleans up the recovery, regardless of whether the recovery is successful or fails. You cannot recover a VM, but the copy can be recovered when necessary.
