Installing the battery
Prerequisites
CAUTION:The information in this section is intended for authorized service technicians only.
If you are replacing a component, remove the existing component before performing the installation procedure.
About this task
NOTE:Latitude 5340 supports both 3-cell 42 WHr and 3-cell 54 WHr battery configurations.
The following image indicates the location of the 3-cell 54 WHr battery and provides a visual representation of the installation procedure.
Steps
- Align the screw holes on the battery with the screw holes on the palm-rest assembly.
- Tighten the five captive screws to secure the battery in place.
- Connect the battery cable to the system board.
- Adhere the mylar to the battery.
