Removing the battery
Prerequisites
CAUTION:The information in this section is intended for authorized service technicians only.
- Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
- Remove the base cover.
About this task
NOTE:Latitude 5340 supports both 3-cell 42 WHr and 3-cell 54 WHr battery configurations.
The following image indicates the location of the 3-cell 54 WHr battery and provides a visual representation of the removal procedure.
Steps
- Disconnect the battery cable from the system board.
- Peel off the mylar securing the battery.
- Loosen the five captive screws that secure the battery to the palm-rest assembly.
- Lift the battery off the palm-rest assembly.
