Symptoms
Unable to preview/open/restore messages from SourceOne Web Search Interface in a Resource Forest Configuration of Active Directory and Exchange.
Following error is logged in the DocMangae log during preview/open/restore
DocumentService::DoGetMessage
ERROR
GetMessage error: The trust relationship between the primary domain and the trusted domain failed. |(0)|Job Id: -1; Activity Name: XXXX; Activity Id: -1; Activity Type: -1; XXXX
The same message (using the messageID) can be opened using ObjectViewer confirming that the messages can be unpacked and extracted from the archives.
Cause
The trust within the Resource Forest Configuration setup is not setup correctly
Resolution
Review the Resource Forest trust relationship configuration by engaging local server team or engage Microsoft Support to determine root cause of Trust Relationship Failure
