Instructions

Affected Products:

  • Secured Component Verification

Secured Component Verification (SCV) is a supply chain assurance offering that verifies the computer matches the factory-manufactured components. A certificate is generated during the factory assembly process containing the unique computer component IDs, this is used to validate the computer. This certificate is signed in the Dell factory and is stored in hard drive EFI partition and is accessed using third-party tools (for example, HIRS, ITSC) to validate computer inventory against the SCV certificate.

Secure Component Verification support is available when purchased with a Dell System.

Warning:
  • Dell is unable to provide technical support on:
    • Third-party validation tools
    • Components added or changed after shipping from the Dell factory.
  • Secured Component Verification offers only limited technical support on:
    • Addressing certificate exceptions (errors) on the Dell manufactured computer components.
  • Secure Component Verification is not supported on components that are added after the manufacturing process.
