Installing the fingerprint reader

  1. Place the fingerprint reader into the slot on the palmrest.
  2. Place the metal bracket on the fingerprint reader and replace the screw to secure the fingerprint reader to the system.
  3. Affix the adhesive–backed cable to secure it to the palmrest.
  4. Connect the fingerprint reader cable to the connector on the system board.
  5. Install the:
    1. I/O board
    2. battery
    3. base cover
  6. Follow the procedure in After working inside your computer
