Configure the general system preferences

About this task

This section describes how to configure the general system settings on your thin client.

Steps

  1. From the desktop menu, click System Setup > System Preferences.
    The System Preferences dialog box is displayed.
  2. Click the General tab, and do the following:

    1. From the Screen Saver drop-down list, select a screensaver for your device. The default value is set to Turn Off Screen.
    2. In the Timer box, select the idle time after which you want the screensaver to be activated on the thin client. When the thin client is left idle for the specified idle time, the screensaver is initiated. The default value is set to 10 minutes.
    3. From the Locale drop-down list, select a language to be activated for the user login-experience. The default language is set to English.
    4. In the Terminal Name box, view the default name fo the terminal. You cannot change the terminal name on ThinOS GUI.
    NOTE:<space>, +, =, /, \, and : are not allowed in the Terminal Name field. You can use all other characters.
  3. Click OK to save your settings.
