Restore for the SRDF/Metro session

About this task

A restore makes the devices in the Smart DR session RW on the SRDF link and initiates an incremental re-synchronization of data from the MetroR2 to the MetroR1. While the re-synchronization is ongoing, the SRDF/Metro state is SyncInProg and the copy direction is R1 <– R2.

A restore temporarily makes the MetroR1 inaccessible to the host while the symmdr restore command is running. Once the restore command completes successfully:
  • the MetroR1 is accessible to the host
  • Once the MetroR1 and MetroR2 contain identical data :
    • the MetroR2 becomes accessible to the host
    • the SRDF/Metro state is ActiveActive
    • the copy direction is R1 < – > R2
  • The DR service state remains Inactive.

Examples

The following example shows the result of the symmdr –sid 702 –name metrodr1 restore -metro command on array 702 with DR mode is Asynchronous:
symmdr –sid 702 –name metrodr1 restore -metro
