Set mode async for the DR session

About this task

A set mode async operation sets the DR mode to Asynchronous mode.

Once the command completes successfully:
  • If the DR state is SyncInProg or Synchronized, and:
    • If the SRDF/Metro state is ActiveActive or ActiveBias, or SyncInProg, and:
      • If the DR link state is Online:
        • the DR Service state is Active.
      • If the DR link state is MetroR2 DR Offline, the -force flag is required, resulting in DR Service state of Degraded.
    • if the SRDF/Metro state is Suspended or Partitioned, the DR Service state is Active:
  • if the DR state is Suspended, Split, Failed Over, R1 Updated, R1 UpdInProg, DR Service state is Inactive.
  • If the DR state is Partitioned, the command must be directed at the MetroR1 or MetroR2 array.

Example

The following example shows the result of the symmdr –sid 702 –name metrodr1 set mode async –dr command on array 702 when the SRDF/Metro state is ActiveActive, the DR state is Synchronized, and DR mode is Adaptive Copy.
