Symptoms

When running any SourceOne Email Management activities using LDAP as a datasource, the activity will hang and eventually stop and go into a "Dispatcher Terminated" state.

Depending on the type of activity, the trace log will not show any errors, but will sit at the following entry:

Using ADS Path: LDAP://<domain.com>.:<port>/DC=domain,DC=com as search container
GetSearchContainerUsingPath getting object for domain LDAP://<domain.com>:636/DC=<domain>,DC=<com>.

When editing the LDAP datasource in the activity through the SourceOne Email Management Console, and selecting "execute" a "Smart Card" popup will appear asking for you to Connect a smart card.

Windows security screen

The LDAP query will not execute until the user either hits OK or Cancel.

Cause

On the Worker server performing the activity, there is a smart card certificate installed which causes this popup to occur.

Resolution

To resolve the issue, remove the Smart Card certificate by following these steps:

  1. While logged in as the SourceOne Service account, open the RUN command and type in MMC.exe and hit enter
  2. From the MMC Console, select File\Add or Remove Snap-ins
  3. In the Add or Remove Snap-ins window, select "Certificates" and select Add. In the popup, select "My user account" and select Finish then OK
  4. Expand Certificates - Current User\Personal\Certificates
  5. In the right hand pane you should see the Smart Card certificate. Remove the certificate.
