Symptoms

The external monitor connected to a Latitude laptop does not show video and appears to be turned off.

The issue occurs when the laptop is started with a Dell Power Button Sync (DPBS) supported monitor connected with a USB-C cable, using the monitor power button. The monitor’s LED remains off, display on the external monitor shows no video, while the internal LCD of the laptop does show video.
