Installing the 3.5-inch hard drive
Prerequisites
If you are replacing a component, remove the existing component before performing the installation procedure.
About this task
The following image indicates the location of the 3.5-inch hard drive and provide a visual representation of the installation procedure.
Steps
- Slide the hard drive into the hard-drive carrier.
- Replace the two screws (6-32) to secure the hard drive to the hard-drive carrier.
- Align the tabs on the hard-drive carrier with the slots on the chassis and snap the hard-drive carrier onto the disk-drive cage.
- Replace the two screws (6-32) to secure the hard drive carrier on the chassis.
- Connect the data and power cables to the connectors on the hard drive.
