Installing the SMA antenna kit
CAUTION:The information in this section is intended for authorized service technicians only.
Prerequisites
If you are replacing a component, remove the existing component before performing the installation procedure.
About this task
The following image indicates the location of the external SMA antenna kit and provides a visual representation of the installation procedure.
Steps
- NOTE:Steps 1, 2, and 3 are required when installing the external SMA antenna kit for the first time.Using a screw driver, push and remove the antenna cover from the chassis.
- Remove the antenna cover from the screw driver and dispose the antenna cover.
- Align the pins on the clip with the holes on the system board and press the clip to secure the clip to the system board.
- Push the antennas into the slots on the back of the chassis.
- Install the nut and washer to secure the antennas to the chassis.
- Route the antenna cables through the routing guides on the system board.
- Press the antenna cable into the clip on the system board.
