Troubleshooting Compellent Collections for SCOC Versions Prior to 6.6.x

For successful validation or collection, make sure that the PhoneHome functionality to the Compellent Co-pilot services is working.

To troubleshoot Compellent collections:

  • NOTE: The following troubleshooting steps are applicable only for SCOS versions prior to 6.6.x
  1. If multiple IPs are configured on Lasso management station, include the IP address of the same subnet as array in the Compellent.properties file to connect to the array.
  2. Enter the storage center IP address and log in credentials in Lasso, and then run the collection.
  3. Verify the proxy configuration on the array.
  4. Ensure that Port 443 is not used by any other application on the management station where Lasso is installed.
  5. If the data collection is unsuccessful, the PhoneHome configuration may not be reset correctly and the array may not be able to start PhoneHome to the Compellent Co-pilot. Information about the failure to PhoneHome can be found in the system logs on the storage array. To troubleshoot the issue: Browse to the Lasso installation directory and run the following command in the CLI.

    CSC_Client.exe resetmc <StoraceCenterIP> <UserName> <Password> <AltPhoneHome IPAddr> <UseAltPhoneHome IPAddr> <Alt PhoneHome PortNo> <Use Alt PhoneHome proxy> <Use PhoneHome Proxy>

    • CSC_Client.exe resetmc — command used to reset the PhoneHome service to point to Co-pilot
    • StorageCenterIP — IP address of the storage center
    • UserName — User name of the storage center
    • Password — Password of the storage center
    • AltPhoneHome IPAddr — IP address of the alternate PhoneHome
      • NOTE: If alternate PhoneHome IP address is not configured, then set the AltPhoneHome IPAddr value to "".
    • Alt PhoneHome PortNo — Port number of the alternate PhoneHome
    • UseAltPhoneHome Proxy — Set to False for disabling the alternate PhoneHome proxy
    • Use PhoneHome Proxy — Set to True for enabling the PhoneHome proxy
