Adding new components or features by editing the existing CSV file
Use your
PowerFlex system's existing CSV topology file to add components or new features to your system.
The CSV file that was used to deploy a system can be used later, in a number of scenarios, for adding features or components to an existing
PowerFlex system. Such scenarios include:
Add SDSs, with or without new storage and acceleration devices
Add MDMs or
tiebreakers. The
PowerFlex Installer will add them to the MDM cluster and configure them automatically.
Add SDRs for the replication feature
Add SDCs
Configure Storage Pools
Configure
PowerFlex system features which can be configured via the CSV file, such as performance profiles, acceleration, VASA, and more.
To add and configure components and features, make a copy of your system's latest CSV topology file. Add rows or columns, or edit existing rows and columns. For new features, you can copy columns from the latest complete CSV template, and paste them into the copy of your system's CSV file. Get the latest complete template by downloading it from the
PowerFlex InstallerInstall tab. Once you have finished editing your file, follow the procedures described in "Add components to a
PowerFlex system—Linux."
The following examples show how the CSV topology file can be edited for various system modification scenarios.
