Preparation for adding components to a system
Prepare items required for adding components to an existing ESXi-based PowerFlex system.
Prerequisites
- Ensure that the new nodes meet the requirements listed in "Deployment checklist—ESXi"
- Obtain the vCenter login credentials

Steps
- For new Fine Granularity Storage Pool hosts, prepare their NVDIMMs as DAX devices, as described in "Preparation for deployment."
- Prepare the new ESXi hosts, as described in "Prepare the ESXi hosts."
- Configure security settings, as described in "Configure ESXi security settings."
- If the ESXis previously hosted PowerFlex components, perform the procedure "Clean the PowerFlex VMware environment" on those hosts.
