Reset PowerFlex Gateway password

Reset the PowerFlex Gateway admin password.

Prerequisites

Run the FOSGWTool from the following location:
  • Linux: /opt/emc/scaleio/gateway/bin/FOSGWTool.sh
  • Windows: C:\Program Files\EMC\ScaleIO\Gateway\bin\FOSGWTool.bat

Steps

  1. Log in as root user to the system on which the PowerFlex Gateway is running.
  2. Run FOSGWTool in command line to reset the PowerFlex Gateway admin password: 
    FOSGWTool --reset_password --password <PASSWORD> --config_file <PATH>
    • The --password is the new password for login to the PowerFlex Gateway
    • The --config_file is the full location path of the configuration file which is /opt/emc/scaleio/gateway/webapps/ROOT/WEB-INF/classes/gatewayUser.properties.
  3. Restart the PowerFlex Gateway service:
    • Windows: From the Windows Services window, restart the EMC ScaleIO Gateway.
    • Linux: Type the following command: 
      service scaleio-gateway restart

Results

The PowerFlex Gateway admin password is reset
