Deploy the SDS component

Deploy the PowerFlex CentOS-based SDS package on all SVMs that will host SDSs.

About this task

To install the SDS package, perform the following steps.

Steps

  1. Copy the SDS package EMC-ScaleIO-sds-3.6-<build>.X.elX.x86_64.rpm to all SVMs that will contribute storage devices to the PowerFlex system (in our example, all the SVMs).
  2. On each SVM to which you copied the package, install the SDS using the command: 
    rpm -i <sds_path.rpm>
    For example: 
    rpm -i EMC-ScaleIO-sds-3.6-<build>.X.el6.x86_64.rpm
