- Open the terminal window on the device running the Linux operating system.

Enter the following commands based on the operating system:
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux, CentOS, and VMware ESX: yum install net-snmp
- Oracle Linux: rpm -ivh net-snmp-x.x-xx.x.x.xxx.x86_64.rpm, where x.x-xx.x.x.xxx.x represents the version number in the rpm file name.
- SUSE Linux Enterprise Server:
- zypper addrepo http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/net-snmp:factory/SLE_12/net-snmp:factory.repo
- zypper refresh
- zypper install net-snmp
