Connectivity test

The Connectivity Test page allows you to test SupportAssist connectivity to the dependent network resources.

The following table describes the fields displayed on the Connectivity Test page.

Check boxSelect the appropriate check boxes to test the connectivity status you want to verify.
TestDisplays the dependent network resources that you can test. The available options are:
  • Internet Connectivity
  • SMTP Server
  • Dell FTP Server
  • Dell Upload Server
  • SupportAssist Server
DescriptionDescribes the purpose of each test.
Connectivity StatusDisplays an icon and a message that indicates the connectivity status. The possible statuses are:
  • Not configuredNot Configured (applicable only for the SMTP Server test) — The SMTP server settings are not configured in SupportAssist. If your company utilizes an SMTP server (email server), Dell recommends that you configure SMTP Settings in SupportAssist.
  • In progressIn Progress — The connectivity test is in progress.
  • ConnectedConnected — The connectivity test is successful.
  • ErrorError — The connectivity test is unsuccessful.
  • NOTE: The Error status is displayed as a link that you can click to view a description of the issue and the possible resolution steps.
Last VerifiedDisplays the date and time the connectivity status was last verified.
Test ConnectivityClick to perform the selected connectivity tests.
